Residential Window Film

Window films block out the suns heat and harmful ultraviolet rays with little reduction of the visible light. Metallized films reflect the suns heat before it can pass through the glass and heat the room.

Most adhesives, which are on the neutral color films, are water activated, making them easy to work with as well as user friendly. Once these adhesives cure, they are permanent. For residential windows, metallized films do not fade or turn purple; they filter out 99% of the suns harmful UV rays, which can cause textiles, leather, wood, and vinyl to fade as well as cause dangerous health conditions. Neutral color metallized films are virtually invisible and complement many exteriors and interior color schemes as well as architectural designs. These color films are designed for dual-pane glass but can also be applied to other window glass such as that which is used in motor homes, boats, planes, and automobiles.

How window tinting is rated is the percentage of visible light that it allows to pass through. 35% film is not dark and is the most popular residential window film used, whereas 20% film is what is normally used on vehicles.

In addition to reducing the damage caused by UV rays, window film can also prevent injury caused by natural disaster, or by accident. This is because the film helps to hold the broken glass together when it has been shattered, thus preventing injury. There are specially designed safety and security glass, which have been proven to withstand the hurricane forced winds, and even earthquakes.
